Agnilet : world’s first single-piece 3D printed rocket engine
Chennai-based space technology start-up Agnikul Cosmos has successfully completed the launch acceptance test of its 3D printed rocket engine.
Agnilet has been tested as a trial for the upcoming spaceflight named Agnibaan.
Agnikul is a space technology start-up incubated at IIT-Madras.

- During the test, the 3D printed rocket engine Aginlet combusted for 108 seconds, generating 6 kilo newton (KN) of sea level thrust.
- Unlike other rocket engines, the Agnilet was built in a single step, eliminating the thousands of parts that would typically assemble a conventional rocket engine.
- It is a semi-cryogenic engine. It uses a mixture of liquefied kerosene and super cooled liquid oxygen at room temperature as fuel.
