Recently the World Inequality Report 2022 has been released. This report is published by The World Inequality Lab.
Key findings
- The top 10% of the global population holds 76% of the total household wealth. Also, they have received 52% of the total income in the year
- The bottom 50% of the global population own only 2% of the wealth and only 8% of the income.
- Women make up only a third of the global labor income. It has seen very limited changes since the year
- A liberalized wealth tax on global billionaires could generate only 6% of global income.
