World Happiness Report 2022, India Ranks 136th
Recently the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network has released the World Happiness Report (WHR), 2022.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the report. In this, the level of happiness is assessed in each nation taking into account factors such as GDP, social cooperation, individual freedom and level of corruption.
The goal of this report is to identify the key determinants of well-being.
India is ranked 136th in the report for the year 2022. Finland topped the list for the fifth year in a row. It has been voted as the happiest country in the world.
The WHR 2022 rankings use data from Gallup World Poll surveys from 2019 to 2021.
The following conflict-ridden countries are included in the bottom five places in this index – Afghanistan, Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Botswana.
Bhutan was not listed in this year’s World Happiness Report.
In this year’s World Happiness Report, India has been placed in the list of countries where, in the last 10 years, life evaluations have seen a decline of more than one point on a scale of 0 to 10.
Criticism of this report:
Only a small segment of the population is included in the preparation of this report. In such a situation, it is criticized for measuring the prosperity of a country on the basis of simple results.
