World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)
World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in the year 1999 as a foundation under the initiative of the International Olympic Committee.
It seeks to promote and coordinate action against doping in sports at the international level.
It oversees the World Anti-Doping Code.
UNESCO’s International Convention Against Doping in Sports helps ensure the code’s effectiveness.
India is a signatory to this convention.
Key activities of WADA:
- scientific research and education,
- develop anti-doping capabilities,
- Monitoring the World Anti-Doping Code, etc.
