WhatsApp will suspend its privacy policy until the Data Protection Bill is implemented
Recently, WhatsApp clarified to the Delhi High Court that it will not force users to accept the new privacy policy until the Personal Data Protection Bill comes into force.

- Earlier, WhatsApp changed its privacy policy to make it mandatory for people to consent to the sharing of business with data about interactions with the Facebook group of companies on the app. Otherwise, they could not continue to use the Service.
- WhatsApp’s new privacy policy caught the attention of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), which launched an investigation. Against this, the company filed an appeal in court.
- The Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, based on the recommendation of the BN Srikrishna Committee, is still pending in the Lok Sabha.
