Van dhan Vikas Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Van dhan Vikas Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 April 2018 with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs as the nodal department at the central level and as the nodal agency at the national level.
Key points:
- This scheme is an important program for sustainable livelihood generation for forest produce-based Scheduled Tribes. Under this scheme, Van Dhan Kendras will be established and value addition, branding, and marketing of small forest produce will be done.
- This program is a major scheme contributing to increase employment and income among tribal communities. The scheme is being implemented by TRIFED.
