Vajra Prahar 2022: India-USA joint exercise
Recently Indo-US joint Special Forces organized the 13th edition of Vajra Prahar 2022 in Bakloh (Himachal Pradesh).
This joint exercise is conducted alternately in India and the US by the special forces of both the countries.
Special forces are units of a country’s armed forces that conduct covert, counter-terrorism and other specialized operations.
Aim-
The 21-day joint training provided an opportunity to the Special Forces of the two countries to train in aerial operations, special operations and counter-terrorist operations in a joint environment under the United Nations Charter.
Significance-
- The Vajra Prahar exercise with US special-forces assumes significance in the context of the security challenges faced by both the nations in the backdrop of the current global situation.
- The joint military exercise has further strengthened the traditional bond of friendship between the special forces of the two nations as well as better bilateral defense cooperation between India and the United States.
