India's wheat exports expected to pick-up due to Russia-Ukraine War According to a recently released report, wheat exports from India are expected to increase sharply to more than 10 million ton in the current financial year due to the Russo-Ukraine war. India's wheat crop, as compared to other wheat producing countries of the world, will be available from the beginning of March. It should be noted that Russia and Ukraine account for a quarter of the global wheat supply. Earlier in the financial year 2012-13, wheat exports from India had reached a historic high. 6.5 million ton of wheat was exported that year. In the current financial year, India has crossed the figure for the financial year 2012-13. Now more than 10 million ton of wheat is expected to be exported this fiscal. About Wheat: It is a staple crop grown in India during the Rabi (winter) season. India is the second largest producer of wheat in the world. Favorable climatic conditions for wheat: It can be grown from tropical and sub-tropical regions to temperate regions and also in the cooler regions of the far north. This crop requires cool and moist weather most of the time for growth. Whereas, it requires dry and hot weather to ripen properly. The required temperature range for this is 20-25 ° C. Too high or too low temperature and drought during earing and flowering or flowering are harmful to wheat.
