Sindhu Darshan Festival
From June 19, 2021, the Sindhu Darshan Festival will be organized in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The festival will be held on the banks of the Indus River at ‘Sheh Malana’, about 8 km from the city of Leh.

- The ‘Sindhu Darshan Festival attracts hundreds of tourists from all over the country every year. During this ceremony, concerts, dance performances, and art exhibitions, etc. are organized by artists from all over India.
- The ‘Sindhu Darshan Festival creates awareness about the Indus River to the general public and promotes its importance as a symbol of the communal unity of the country.
- It is known that the Indus River is considered one of the most important water systems of the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the longest rivers in the world and the maximum part of its total drainage area is in India and Pakistan. The Indus river system mainly consists of 6 rivers – Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej.
- The Indus River confluence with its tributaries – Chenab, Jhelum, Sutlej, Ravi, and Beas in Pakistan. Most of the people living along the river in India and Pakistan depend on this river system for their basic needs and irrigation etc.
