Shri Ramanujacharya birth anniversary

Recently the Vice President paid tribute to the great philosopher, saint and social reformer, Shri Ramanujacharya ji on his birth anniversary. The Vice-President said that Ramanujacharya was a great proponent of Vedanta and Vaishnavism, who also preaches the message of universal brotherhood.

Ramanuja or Ramanujacharya

  • Ramanujacharya (1017–1137 CE) was a great Indian philosopher, social reformer, Hindu theologian and one of the most important exponents of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within
  • Shri Yadav Prakash was the teacher of Ramanuja, who was part of the tradition of the ancient Advaita Vedanta
  • According to the Sri Vaishnava tradition Ramanuja disagreed with his guru and non- dualistic Advaita Vedanta, and instead of the Tamil Alvara tradition, the scholars followed Nathmuni and
  • Ramanuja famous as the chief proponent of the Vishishtadvaita subschool of Vedanta, and his pupils were likely authors of texts such as the Shatyayaniya
  • Ramanuja himself wrote several influential texts in Sanskrit, such as Bhashya on the Brahma Sutras, and the Bhagavad-gi
