SAMRIDH Program of Ministry of Information Technology (MeitY)
Recently the SAMRIDH program was launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
- Start-up Accelerators of MeitY for product Innovation, Development and growth (SAMRIDH)” programme launched by MeitY. Its objective is to provide impetus to the start-up system in the country.
- It provides a supportive platform to Indian software product startups to enhance their products and get investments to grow their business.
Salient Features:
- To focus on accelerating 300 Startups over the next three years by providing customer interaction, investor interaction and international reach.
- Based on the current valuation and development stage of the startup, up to Rs 40 lakh will be invested in the startup through selected accelerators.
- It will also facilitate equivalent investment through accelerators/investors. The program will be implemented by MeitY Start-up Hub (MSH).
Other initiatives taken to promote startups in India:
- Startup India has been launched to catalyze the startup culture and build a strong and inclusive ecosystem. PRISM (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Start-ups and MSMEs) Scheme aims to support individual innovators.
- SIP-EIT is a scheme initiated by DeitY for providing financial support to startups and MSMEs to strengthen their competitiveness through innovation and its protection.
