Government launched ‘Sabki Yojna Sabka Vikas’ campaign
Recently, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has started Jan Yojana Abhiyan 2021 – Sabki Yojna Sabka Vikas
Jan Yojna Abhiyan is an effective strategy to ensure the preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
During the campaign, Gram Sabha meetings will be held to prepare the GPDP for the upcoming financial year i.e. 2022-23.
Panchayats have been mandated to prepare GPDP for economic development and social justice by utilizing the resources available to them.
This includes complete convergence with the schemes of all the Central Ministries/Line Departments relating to the 29 subjects listed in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution.
The GPDP simultaneously involves both citizens and their elected representatives in decentralized planning processes.
Its main objectives include:
- Ensuring proper utilization of funds, collection of revenue by Panchayats from their own sources, use of innovation and technology, bridging the digital divide in rural and remote areas and mainstreaming Panchayat-Women Self Help Groups.
- To make evidence based assessment of the progress made during the past years.
- To conduct public information campaign for all the programs in the Gram Panchayat office.
- The government has also launched the ‘Vibrant Gram Sabha Dashboard’ for better coordination and streamlining of data.
