QUAD
Recently the fourth ministerial meeting of the Quad has been held in Melbourne.
Key Points Underlined in Quad (QUAD):
- The supply of more than one billion doses of India-made COVID-vaccines to Indo-Pacific countries will be accelerated by the end of 2022. In addition, 1.3 billion doses of vaccines will be donated globally.
- A special meeting on climate change will be held in the year 2022.
- Steps will be taken to ensure maritime security in the region.
- Quad is a quadrilateral security talk. It is an informal strategic forum. It consists of four nations- United States of America, India, Australia and Japan.
- It aims to work for a free, open, prosperous and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
