Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme and Oxy Van Scheme started
Recently, on the occasion of World Environment Day, “Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme” (PVDPS) and Oxy Van schemes were started by the Haryana Government.
Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme (PVDPS):
- Under this scheme, such trees of age 75 years and above will be honored, which reduce pollution by producing oxygen throughout their life and also provide shade to people to serve humanity.
- Under this initiative, such trees will be identified throughout the state and they will be taken care of by involving the local people in this initiative.
- A pension amount of Rs 2,500 will also be provided in the name of PVDPS under this scheme for the maintenance of trees above 75 This ‘tree pension’ will be increased every year on the lines of old age honor pension.
- Urban Local Bodies (ULB) departments will provide this pension for maintenance of trees, installation of plates, grills etc.
What is Oxy Van?
- ‘Oxy Van ‘ is an identified piece of land on which three crore trees will be planted.
- In this way, out of eight lakh hectares of the entire Haryana, Oxy Van will be planted on ten percent. These forests will have different types of plants and trees.
