  • OSCE originated from the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe (CSCE) held in 1975.
  • CSCE was established to serve as a multilateral forum for dialogue between East and West.
  • Under this, a comprehensive approach related to security has been adopted. It covers political and military, economic and environmental and humanitarian aspects.
  • It’s headquarter is in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
  • It has 57 participants from three continents (North America, Europe and Asia).
  • India is not a member of it.
