Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC)
Recently, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has started a project on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
- This work will be done through the Quality Council of India (QCI).
- The objective of ‘ONDC’ is to promote an open network developed on an open source methodology using open network protocols and open specifications independent of a specific platform.
- ONDC is expected to digitize the entire value chain, standardize operations, promote inclusiveness of suppliers, achieve efficiencies in logistics and improve value for consumers.
