NIRF Ranking 2022: IIT Madras Tops 4th Time In A Row
Recently India Ranking 2022 of Higher Educational Institutions has been released by the Ministry of Education.
This year 6,000 colleges and universities have participated in the sixth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), 2022 rankings.
IIT-Madras, IISc Bangalore and IIT-Bombay have secured the top three ranks in the rankings for the year 2022.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched by the Ministry of Education in November 2015. It has been made mandatory for all government educational institutions to participate in NIRF from the year 2018.
The ranking framework evaluates institutions under five broad categories:
- Teaching Learning and Resources,
- Research and Professional Practice,
- Graduation Result,
- outreach and inclusivity and
- P
Importance of NIRF Ranking-
- It helps the students to choose the best university.
- The rank of the institute plays an important role in attracting companies and organizations for campus placements.
Other initiatives to improve the quality of higher education system in India-
- Annual web based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) has been launched.
- The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has started the process of accreditation for the approval of technical courses.
- Common Entrance Test has been made mandatory for admission in all central universities.
- Simultaneous two full-time academic programs are permitted.
