New ‘Chief Economic Advisor’ of Government of India
Recently, the Government of India has appointed ‘Dr V Anantha Nageswaran’ as the new Chief Economic Advisor (CEA). He has been a former member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister.
The ‘Chief Economic Adviser’ (CEA) reports to the Finance Minister of India. The post of ‘Chief Economic Adviser’ is equivalent to that of a Secretary to the Government of India.
The CEA heads the Department of Economic Affairs, and works under the Ministry of Finance.
