Recently nominations for the 4th National Water Awards (NWA) have been started.
National Water Awards
- In order to encourage and recognize individuals and organizations doing exemplary work in the field of water resource management, the ‘National Water Awards’ (NWAs) are given.
- The first National Water Award was started in 2018 by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. It aims to fulfill the government’s vision of ‘Jal Samridhi Bharat’.
Other schemes for water conservation: Catch the Rain, Jal Kranti Abhiyan (Jal Gram Yojana to develop two model villages in water scarce area), MGNREGA for water conservation, National Water Mission (20% in water use efficiency) NITI Aayog Composite Water Management Index, Jal Jeevan Mission (for piped drinking water).
