Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF)
Recently, the 32nd Council meeting of the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF), and the Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) was held.
In this, representatives of low-income countries and ocean developing countries have welcomed the plan to raise the funding limit for Least Developed Countries (LDCs) from $10 million to $20 million.
LDCF and SCCF
- These funds were established in the year 2001. These were established to support the climate change adaptation efforts of developing countries. These are intended to finance projects run by countries that address national priorities.
- LDCF is the only fund dedicated solely to supporting climate adaptation action in LDCs.
- SCCF is designed to finance activities and initiatives related to climate change adaptation and technology transfer in developing countries.
