Recently, the Indian Army has launched the ‘Ladakh Ignited Minds Project’ to provide educational opportunities for a better future for young students of Ladakh.
For this, Leh-based Corps of Indian Army has signed a memorandum of understanding with corporate partner Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and an NGO ‘National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation, (NIEDO)’.
Ladakh Ignited Minds project
- Ladakh students under the ‘Ladakh Ignited Minds Project’ will be provided with a 12-month residential arrangement for all types of entrance examinations.
- Through which the youth of Ladakh can be admitted to various medical and engineering colleges present in the country.
- The program will be executed by the National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation, (NIEDO), a Kanpur-based NGO under the aegis of the Indian Army.
- The project will train 45 students from Kargil and Leh districts, in which 20 girls will be trained.
- The project will train students for entrance exams like JEE and NEET.
Development of Ladakh
- Recently UPSC has added Leh of Ladakh as its examination center.
