James Webb Space Telescope – NASA
It is the world’s most advanced telescope. It has been successfully placed in its orbit at Lagrange Point-2 (L2).
Lagrange Point-2 is one of the five points in space where the gravity of the Sun and the Earth-Moon system balance each other.
About Telescope:
- JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) is an orbiting infrared light based observatory.
- It will expand the discoveries of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope (HST) with longer wavelength coverage and better sensitivity.
- It will study each phase of the history of the universe. It includes the stages from the Big Bang to the evolution of the Solar System.
- It is an international collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency.
