Interpol : Operation Pangea XIV
The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) recently launched ‘Operation Pangea XIV’ to stop the online illegal sale of counterfeit drugs and products.
Through this operation, Interpol has abrogated more than 1.25 lakh web links including many illegal websites and online marketplaces.

- ‘Operation Pangea’ is a well-established international effort of Interpol. It also works to prevent the online sale of counterfeit and illegal health products, as well as to raise awareness of the risks associated with purchasing medicines from unregulated websites.
- Police, customs and health regulatory authorities from 92 countries participated in this coordinated 14th operation of Interpol. India’s ‘Central Bureau of Investigation’ (CBI) also participated in this operation.
