International Finance Corporation : IFC
Recently, the Finance Minister of India has requested the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to increase lending to India. IFC is the private sector investment arm of the World Bank.
IFC actually helps developing countries achieve sustainable growth. For this IFC finances investments in developing countries.
Other branches of IFC-
- International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD);
- International Development Agency (IDA);
- Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA); And
- International Investment Disputes Resolution Center (ICSID)
India is a member of all of the above except ICSID.
