India’s term as the chairman of the governing body of the International Labor Organization (ILO) ends
Recently, India’s term as the President of the ‘Governing Body’ of the International Labor Organization (ILO) has come to an end.
It may be noted that in the year 2020, India assumed the presidency of the governing body of the International Labor Organization after a gap of 35 years. India’s tenure in the ILO was from October 2020 to June 2021.
About Governing Body:
It is the apex executive body of the International Labor Organisation. This body plays a key role in the ILO’s policies, programmes, agenda, budget determination and the election of the Director-General. It meets in Geneva, Switzerland.
About International Labor Organization (ILO):
