Implementation of Prime The Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in Minority Concentration Areas
The ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram’ is being implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in the identified Minority Concentration Areas (MCAs) of the country.
About Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK)
- In the year 2018, for effective implementation of the erstwhile ‘Multi-Sectoral Development Program (MsDP)’, it was renamed and reorganized as ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram’ (PMJVK) by the Central Government. Is.
- The main objective of PMJVK is to provide better socio-economic infrastructure facilities to the minority communities.
Allocation of Funds for Special Focus Areas under the programme:
- Under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram’, 80 percent of the resources are earmarked for projects related to education, health and skill development.
- Under this programme, 33 per cent to 40 per cent of the resources will be allocated exclusively for women-centric projects.
Beneficiaries of ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram’:
- In the context of PMJVK, the minority community status will be given to the communities notified as minority communities under section 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act,
- Under this Act, at present 6 communities namely ‘Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains’ have been notified as minority communities.
