Green cement is being seen as a possible alternative to the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA).
- The GCCA presented the ‘Concrete Future 2050 Roadmap’ to achieve the Net-Zero target at the Glasgow meeting.
- Green cement is an eco-friendly product, which will help in reducing the carbon footprint of cement production.
- It is energy-efficient, includes low carbon production methods, new cement compositions, geo-polymers, carbon negative cement and new concrete products.
- Its production will reduce the consumption of cement. Its major raw materials include industrial waste such as metal slag and fly ash extracted from blast furnaces.
