Global Drug Policy Index is a data-driven global analysis of drug policies and their implementation. It provides an essential accountability and evaluation mechanism in the field of drug policy. Global Drug Policy Index GDPI is a project of the The Harm Reduction Consortium.
- It is made up of 75 indicators operating in five broad dimensions of drug policy, namely criminal justice, extreme response, health and harm reduction, access to and development of internationally controlled drugs.
- Norway and New Zealand are leaders in humane and health-driven medicine policies. Brazil, Uganda and Indonesia are in the last three places. India ranks 18th out of 30 countries.
