DRDO Successfully Flight-Tested Man Portable Anti Tank Guided Missile
Recently “Man Portable Anti Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM)” has been successfully test-fired by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
This guided missile, named Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile, has been developed indigenously by India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO),
Key Points:
- The missile is launched by a man-portable launcher integrated with Thermal Sight, in which the missile successfully destroyed the target with impressive accuracy in Direct Attack Mode.
- DRDO issued a statement saying that the objectives of the mission being investigated have been successfully completed. Both the maximum and minimum range of this missile has been successfully test fired.
Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM)
- This type of missile is equipped with state-of-the-art infrared measuring seeker and advanced avionics.
- This man-portable missile is launched using a tripod which is designed with a maximum range of five km with a weight of less than fifteen kilograms.
- Further Guided Flight Tests are being planned.
