Country’s first private train under Bharat Gaurav scheme
The first service of “Bharat Gaurav Train” has been started from Coimbatore North to Sainagar Shirdi under Bharat Gaurav Yojana.
Bharat Gaurav trains are theme-based trains. These were started by the Indian Railways in November 2021.
Objective:
- To showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical sites to the people of India and the world.
- The objective of the scheme is to leverage the core competence of tourism sector professionals to operate theme based trains. This will tap India’s huge tourist potential.
The guidelines of the Bharat Gaurav scheme are applicable to tourist circuit trains already run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Cooperation (IRCTC) as well as ‘Buddhist circuit’ tourist trains.
