Convergence Portal of the MoFPI

Recently the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has launched the Convergence Portal.

The portal will bring together Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) on a single platform.

The eligible beneficiaries of PMFME and PMKSY scheme receiving credit linked subsidy through this convergence will be able to avail additional benefit of 3% interest subvention.

PMFME and PMKSY –

PMFME: It is a centrally sponsored scheme. It was launched in the year 2020 as part of the self-reliant India campaign. The objective of the scheme is to promote the competitiveness of individual micro enterprises in the unorganized food processing sector.

PMKSY: This is a central sector scheme. PMKSY aims to create a modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management from farm to retail outlet.

It is an umbrella scheme with many sub-schemes, such as infrastructure (APC) for agro-processing clusters, integrated cold chain and value addition infrastructure etc. PMFME and PMKSY, both are schemes of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
