Celebration of 400thPrakash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur
Recently a high level committee meeting was organized to celebrate the 400th Prakash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur. The event is presided over by the Prime Minister of India.
In the meeting of Prakash Parv, the outline of programs to be organized throughout the year to celebrate this special occasion was discussed.
It is to be noted that last year the Central Government decided to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s birth anniversary with great pomp.
This committee includes Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of the states.
The task of this committee is to formulate a policy and plan to spread the teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur and his ideas in the country and the world.

The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first of the Sikhs, is celebrated all over the country as Prakash Parv. Nanak was of religious instinct since childhood. He was born on the day of Kartik Purnima in Talwandi, a village on the banks of river Ravi, which is now in Pakistan. Bhajans, Kirtins, Ardas and Langars are organized in all gurdwaras on Guru Parv.
