Ayushman Bharat Day 2021 Organized
Every year on 30th April, ‘Ayushman Bharat Day 2021 ‘ is organized all over India. The promotion of affordable medical facilities in various regions of the country is to be done on the socio-economic caste-based census database through Ayushman Bharat.
Also, the purpose of celebrating this day is focused on two goals:
- Promoting the health and welfare of the poor.
- To provide them insurance benefit protection.
It should be noted that Ayushman Bharat Yojana was launched on 30th April. It is also known as PradhanMantri Jan ArogyaYojana (PMJAY).
Ayushman Bharat Scheme:
- Launched by the Central Government in the year Under this ambitious scheme, health facilities of up to Rs5 lakh per year are provided free of cost to the low income population of the country. It is one of the largest health schemes in the world; hence it also becomes a scheme of national importance.
- It is to be noted that on 21 March 2018, the Central Government had approved the launch of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and on 30 April 2018, Prime Minister NarendraModi launched the scheme in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
- According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme has so far launched,75,532Ayushman Bharat Health and Welfare Centers. It has set a target of setting up 5 lakh health and welfare centers by
- The scheme covers 15 days before and 15 days after hospitalization. It also includes the cost of medicines and tests.
- The scheme has packages that include knee implants, bypasses and other treatments up to 15% cheaper than central government health plans.
- The benefit of this scheme can be availed at any government or listed private hospitals across the country.
The services provided at the Health and Wellness Center has also been included under this scheme. It includes the following schemes –
- Pregnancy care and health services
- Newborn and child health services
- Child Health Infectious Diseases
- Emergency medicine for mental illness
