Anti Missile System (Arrow 4)

Israel announced on February 18, 2021, that it was developing a new ballistic missile shield called “Arrow-4” Anti Missile System (Arrow 4) in collaboration with the US.

This missile is being developed as another layer in the defensive system.

Key Points:

Israel’s Arrow-2 and Arrow-3 interceptors are already operational as part of a multi-layered system.

As a result of the development of Arrow-4 in collaboration with the US, there will be greater technical and operational improvements. This system can destroy missiles coming from the atmosphere and space. It will prepare countries for future battlefield threats.

The Arrow or Hetz:

It is a family of anti-ballistic missiles. It is designed to make the Israeli missile defense system more effective than other surface-to-air missiles.

These missiles are being jointly developed by Israel and the US Development of these missiles started in the year 1986.The missile system is overseen by the Israeli Defense Ministry and the Missile Defense Agency – U.S. Department of Defense.

Ballistic Missile:

A ballistic missile follows a ballistic trajectory to deliver one or more warheads on a predetermined target. These weapons are guided only during relatively brief periods.
