The Quality Council of India (QCI) was established in the year 1997.
It was jointly set up by the Union Government, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
QCI launches a marquee campaign–’Gunvatta Se Atmanirbharta’. This campaign has been launched to celebrate India’s continuous efforts to uphold quality and excellence.
Objectives of QCI-
- To monitor and administer the National Quality Campaign. Its goal is to educate both suppliers and consumers about modern concepts of quality.
- Develop appropriate capacity at the level of governments, institutions and enterprises. This will help in implementing and institutionalizing continuous quality improvement.
- To develop, establish and conduct national accreditation programs in accordance with relevant international standards.
- To promote the quality competitiveness of India’s enterprises especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This incentive is given through adoption and adherence to quality management standards and quality enhancement tools.
